Welcome, I’m glad you stopped in. Here’s a bit of my story:
Just a few years ago, in the summer of 2009, I started dabbling in this photography thing and since then it has become a rather consuming pursuit. My interest in photography came about a little by accident, really. While putting together a web site for my day job, and looking at how absolutely terrible the pictures I had taken for the site were, I decided to go pick up a new camera and a book or two on photography to just figure a few things out. It was supposed to just be a simple solution, a means to an end. Little did I know what I was getting myself into.
My love of the outdoors on the other hand, goes back as far as I can remember. My father was a backcountry enthusiast and avid mountaineer who really instilled that passion in me at an early age. Growing up in Calgary, weekends and family holidays were typically spent out in the Rockies, camping, hiking, skiing, etc., so naturally I feel very much at home out in the mountains.
What you see here on this site are the results of the combining of my newfound photography interest with my love of the outdoors. I hope that through these images, you’ll catch at least a glimpse of the passion I have for the beauty of our natural world.
